  1. Bookings matters

    Can I make a last minute room booking for today and tomorrow?
    Yes, we will try our best to assist you in your accommodation reservation. We will confirm your reservation after booking payment has been made or credit card information has been provided for us to charge 1st night room rate in case of no show. You can also make direct bookings through our phone reservation anytime but these bookings will be treated as walk in guests and subjected to our rack terms and conditions with rates which may be slightly higher than the internet rates.

    I have paid for my guaranteed booking using telegraphic transfer (TT) into your company's bank account. Is my booking confirmed yet?
    We can only reply and confirm your booking once the transaction has been completed and reflected in our bank account. This will usually take 2 to 3 working days after you have transmitted the TT.

    I was due to check into Hamin Lodge in 15 days time but had to cancel my guaranteed booking. How do I get my refund for the deposit paid?
    As your cancellation is done more than 72 hrs of check-in date, we will refund 80% of the deposit. Payment of your refund can be made through PayPal, credited back to your credit card or bank account and we will select the one most convenient to you and which will incur the least charges from the financial institution.

    I paid my guaranteed booking using the PayPal option but unfortunately had to cancel my booking one month before check in date. When can I expect to get my deposit refund?
    Refunds, if any, will be made in the form of a credit to the same credit card that was earlier charged. All credit card refunds will be processed in a timely manner. The refunds process is dependent on your billing cycle with the credit card company. Once the refund instructions leave our office it can take anywhere from 15 - 45 working days for the proceeds to arrive in your account and will be normally reflected on your credit card statement.

    I am arriving past midnight. In making my booking should I key-in the date of my check-in as the date before midnight or the date after midnight?
    Early check-in and late check-out are subject to the availability of the room and cannot be confirmed until the day of check-in or check-out. If you plan to arrive more than 6 hours prior to the lodge check-in time and want to guarantee that you would be able to check into your room upon arrival, you would need to book the night prior to the date of arrival.

    (Example: The check-in time at the lodge is 2 PM and you are planning to arrive at 3 AM on December 5, you would need to book your room for December 4 and December 5 as the lodge is not able to organize check-in at such an early hour.)

  3. Check-in and Check-out Matters

    What is your check-in / check-out time?
    Our check-in time is at 02:00 pm and check-out time is at 12:00 pm. However subject to room availability earlier check-in maybe possible if you request. If we do not have the room ready when you arrive, you may keep your luggage with us till the room is available at 2 pm.

  4. Location, Facilities & Transportation

    How much is the cost of taxi from Airport (KKIA) to Hamin Lodge?
    If you used the service of the Airport taxi, the cost from KKIA to Hamin Lodge is only RM 20.00 and takes about 15 minutes subject to traffic conditions.

    What are the directions to Hamin Lodge?
    The directions to the lodge can be found in the Location Map page. Or just tell the taxi driver "Hamin lodge next to the Seri Selera Seafood, Kampung Air, Sedco Complex" and they should know where to find us.

    Are there any restaurants nearby?
    Within the lodge we have "Shoney's Café" which serve both Western and Asian food. You will find many restaurants at our footstep and within 4-8 minutes walk from the Lodge. There are also café and food courts in the nearby shopping centers.

    What facilities are available at the Lodge?
    Our facilities as listed in the Facilities section of our website are Standard lodge facilities and cannot be compared to 4 or 5 star hotels facilities. As we are more like a guest house the environment will be more casual like in a home and our staff may not be as polished or formal as those in 5-star hotels. However whatever we may lack in facilities or trained staff, we make up for in giving you a very good city location, clean, unique ambience, sincere and friendly service all at an affordable budget cost.

    Are towels and shampoo provided?
    Shampoo cum body soap are provided in all ensuite and common bathrooms. Towels are provided in all rooms with ensuite. Towels are available for rental at MYR5 for Dorms occupants.

    What type of breakfast is served?
    For the RM10 breakfast, you have a choice of Asian or American breakfast including free flow of coffee, tea, bread, toast, jams and fruits.

  5. Payments

    How and when do I pay?
    You only pay once you received a room availability confirmation with a request for payment. The mode of payment will depend on your selection of paying through PayPal (which also accepts major credit cards) or direct into our company's bank account. Instruction will be given to you on how to pay.

    Can I pay in USD or non Malaysian currencies at Hamin Lodge?
    Yes, we accept cash payment in USD, AUD and MYR at Hamin lodge. However any change given will be in MYR based on the lodge's exchange rate. For other currencies there are money changers nearby to the lodge where you can convert currencies to MYR.

    Can I pay using credit card at Hamin Lodge?
    Yes, we accept Mastercard, Visa and JCB at Hamin lodge.

    I do not have a PayPal account, can I pay booking confirmation by credit card?
    Yes, PayPal accepts payment using major credit cards and you do not need to have an account with PayPal. Just follow the instructions from PayPal on credit card payment after we have confirmed room availability and request payment from you through PayPal.

  6. Room & Package rates

    Does room rates include breakfast and airport pick up?
    No, room rates are for room only and breakfast or airport pick up can be requested at additional charge.

    Are there any additional costs such as taxes to be paid beside the room rates?
    No, our rates as shown are all inclusive and no additional cost to pay.

    I would like to stay at Hamin Lodge for a month. Is there any special room rates for long stay?
    Yes, we have special room rates for long stay of 2 weeks or more. Please email or contact us for a quotation.

    I would like to stay in Kota Kinabalu for about 2 months. Do you have stay and work type programs?
    Yes, we may need various extra help from time to time and will consider stay for free and work type programs. Email or contact us with your personal information, qualifications, skills and period you expect to be in Kota Kinabalu and we will get back to you.

    We are coming in a group of 30 persons, can you give us a group rate?
    Yes, we do have special group rates. Email or contact us with your traveling details and requirements and we will be glad to give you a quotation for group rates.

    What are the room/bed rates?
    The internet rates are as listed in the Accommodation and Rates section of our web site. Rack rates for walk in guests at the lodge are slightly higher than internet rates. From time to time we may also have some promotional rates or exclusive promotional rates for Hamin family members. The Hamin Super value packages also offer some very good room plus activities rates.   7. Things To Do

    A group of us would like to climb Mt.Kinabalu and stay a day at the Poring hot springs. Can you arrange a package for us and let us know the cost?
    Yes, we can arrange for this package. Please provide us with the dates you wish to take the package and number of persons so that we can check accommodation availability (especially on the mountain) and will get back to you with a price quotation. We highly recommend a 2 - 3 months advance booking for this popular package.

    What activities can we engaged during our stay?
    There are endless activities that you can enjoy and amuse yourself with in Sabah or Kota Kinabalu. The popular activities include nature trails, golfing, diving, shopping, spa pampering, mountain climbing, eating and island or sea sports activities.
