Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, also known as the Northernmost tip of Borneo, is located in the district of Kudat, in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. The tip is the meeting point of Sulu and South China Sea. A bronze globe marks the location of Tanjung Simpang Mengayau which is at latitude 7 degrees north and longitude 116 degrees east. The journey to Kudat will take you through the beautiful scenic countryside of Kudat, passing paddy fields, villages, oil palm plantation, local stalls selling handicraft and food items. Kudat’s beautiful white sandy beaches and its sunset are a breathtaking sights especially from the islands of Balambangan and Banggi. Located approximately 190 km or 3 hours drive away from the city of Kota Kinabalu, Kudat is definitely worth the visit. Along the way to Simpang Mengayau, stop over at Kg. Gombizau 'Honey Bee Farm', Kg. Sumangkap 'Gong Making' and Kg.Bavanggazo 'Rungus Long House'.

0630 hrs
After breakfast, depart from Hamin Lodge to your first destination, Kampung Bavanggazou home to the Traditional Rungus Longhouse. Longhouses are houses which Rungus people built mainly from bamboo and are well equiped with proper electricity and water supplies. Upon arrival, visitors will be welcomed by locals dressed in Rungus’s traditional attire while performing a traditional dance known as Mogigul-dance. Even though living in modern day life, Rungus people still stay true to their tradition. Have a cultural experience with the Rungus people. It will be an experience like never before.
1200 hrs
Proceed to Kudat Golf and Marina Resort for lunch. After lunch, we will head for Tip of Borneo or Tanjung Simpang Mengayau as the local called it. It is there where the South Chinese Sea meets Sulu Sea.
1500 hrs
Later on we’ll move to Kampung Sumangkap, a village renowned for it’s traditional gong making. Visitors will have an opportunity to watch a presentation of traditional skill of producing gongs and meet its harmonious residents.
1600 hrs
We’ll then proceed to Kampung Gombizou, our last destination for the day. It’s a village that is actively involved in cultivating and producing honey bee. Harvesting honey bee has become Kampung Gombizau’s economic resource and now has also become an attraction for tourists. Watch how our locals harvest honey in their own traditional ways.
